Articles and share registers for both entities, financial statements and contracts showing both are operating, organizational charts before and after the transfer, her payroll and contract for the qualifying year, and a duty description written around decisions and reports.
The employer's filing cabinet is the petition
An L-1A petition is assembled almost entirely from records the employer already holds. The corporate section needs articles of incorporation, current share registers, and any shareholder or operating agreement that shows control, for both the Shannon company and the Texas affiliate; if the affiliate was recently formed, its formation documents and bank statements. Doing business is shown by financial statements, customer contracts, invoices, payroll and premises leases for both.
Hypothetical example: a logistics firm serving contractors can include its master service agreements with its main customers and the Texas warehouse lease. The transferee's section needs her employment contract, twelve continuous months of pay stubs or T4 records, a résumé, and a description of her current and proposed duties that quantifies management tasks and names subordinates. Date each organizational chart and reconcile every listed employee with payroll.
French documents need certified translations. Everything is filed with Form I-129 and the L supplement; keep copies for the extension years later.
